Chemical and Environmental Engineering Group

Victoria Morales obtained his Bachelor and Master Degrees in Chemical Engineering at Castilla La-Mancha University de Ciudad Real (2001) and received his Ph.D. in 2008 (Universidad Rey Juan Carlos) working on the synthesis and characterization of hybrid organic-inorganic mesostructured materials for supporting Sharpless catalyst. He has occupied several teaching positions in the Department of Chemical and Environmental Technology, starting in 2003 as PhD student, becoming teaching assistant in 2006 and assistant professor since 2008. He has been visiting researcher at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Montpellier (France) in 2006 under the supervision of Prof. Daniel Brunel; at the Department of Chemical Engineering in the University of California at Santa Barbara (USA) in 2009 under the supervision of Prof. Brad F. Chmelka. His main research lines are focused on the synthesis, characterization and catalytic application of organically-functionalized mesostructured materials, mesoporous hybrid materials for supporting Sharpless catalyst and its catalytic behaviour in oxidation and sulfoxidation asymmetric reactions.
