Chemical and Environmental Engineering Group

José María Escola Saez was born in Badajoz in 1970. He studied the degree of Chemistry, especiality in Industrial Chemistry in Extremadura University, obtaining the Degree Extraordinary Award in 1994. He carried out the PhD in Complutense University of Madrid, under the direction of professors Jose Aguado and David Serrano, about “ Feedstock recycling of plastics with zeolitic catalysts”, obtaining the PhD Extraordinary Award in 1998. Afterwards, he performed postdoctoral stay as Vissiting Associate in California institute of Technology under the supervision of professor Mark E. Davis in 1999- 2000. At the end of 2000, he incorporated to Rey Juan Carlos University wherein he won a position as Professor Titular in the Department of Environmental and Chemical Technology. His research lines are focused in the synthesis of mesostructured materials, nanocrystalline and hierarchical zeolites, feedstock recycling of plastics towards fuels, oligomerization and metathesis of olefins and olefin polymerization. He is coauthor of 40 research articles in international journals as well as a European patent.
