María López studied Chemical Engineering at Rey Juan Carlos University (2010). During this period she enjoyed an Erasmus scholarship at Helsinki University of Technology (Espoo) for 9 months. After obtaining her degree, she continued her studies at Rey Juan Carlos University with a Master degree in Technology and Energy Resources. The topic of the master thesis involved FTIR research on new materials for thermal energy storage based on water adsorption/desorption processes– IMDEA Energy. Throughout her studies she obtained a grant for one year in Repsol as a researcher in the lubricants area.
